As we approach the halfway point of 2026, now is probably a good time to reflect on a couple big things.

Here’s one question we’ve noticed is critical for bankruptcy attorneys.

If filings increased by 25% over the next six months, would your firm be ready?

Operationally, not from a marketing standpoint.

Think about how your intake process would hold up.

If client communication could keep up.

Overwhelmed staff or would you have enough capacity?

Bankruptcy filings have continued to trend upward, and many attorneys expect financial distress to remain elevated through the second half of the year.

If that happens, the firms that benefit most likely won't be the firms that scramble after the phones start ringing.

They'll be the firms that prepared in advance.

The firms that already have:

  • Clear intake processes

  • Well-documented systems

  • Efficient workflows

  • Strong client communication

  • The right people in the right roles

Growth is great.

But growth without systems often creates new problems.

Summer can be a great time to take a step back and ask:

What breaks first if business suddenly picks up?

Because whatever comes to mind is probably the next thing worth fixing.

Until next time,
